Recruitment of citizens of different sections of the society into the Home Guard helps the police force in the operation of law and order, as well as the administrative system in natural and man-made disasters.

Any citizen of all sections of the society who wishes to serve in the Home Guard can join. The qualifying member is enrolled as a Home Guard member through the procedure shown below?

Selection Process: 

1. Person desired to enlist in the force
2. Must be a citizen of India.
3. Not be involved in criminal activity.
4. He is 18 years old and has not been 50 years old.
5. He has passed seven (7) standard exams in any language.
6. According to the Commandant General's orders, he has been medically examined and according to the Commandant's opinion he is physically fit.
7. Anyone wishing to be a member of the Home guards should apply in sample "A".
8. In the area where the aspirant wants to be admitted, he will have to pass the exam at the expense of his own recruitment parade and at his own risk.
9. Prior to his appointment as a member of the Home guards, each person must sign the affidavit in accordance with the template "B" before the commandant or officer authorized by him for this purpose.
10. Each person appointed as a member of the Home guards will receive a sample "C" appointment certificate.

Male Home guards

• Candidate should be 18 years old and not 50 years old.
• The height of the candidate should be "5.4" (five feet four inches).
• Chest: Normal 31 and 2, inches inflated (should be 31 to 33)
• Weight 50- kg.

Female Home guards

• Candidate should be 18 years of age
• Height: - "4'-5" (four feet five inches)
• Weight: 45 kg
• Chest: - Must be at least 1/1 inch wide.
